Moving in May with your Virtual Personal Trainer

Subject: Movement Mission - 5/14/08 - Screen Time vs. Exercise Time

"I LOVE working out now and look forward to both the strength training and my interval walks. I have even rearranged my schedule to make sure I HAVE the time to do what I need to take care of myself. =) Gotta love it!" - Carrie

Good Morning No Excuse Ladies,
This is Jonathan Roche writing - your Virtual Personal Trainer.

I hope you have been enjoying Moving in May and have started or continued to build healthy habits - one baby step at a time.

FLYING WITH MOMENTUM 2 FITNESS CHALLENGE - ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT to sign-up * it starts Monday, May 19th - this is a great way to get and stay motivated as we head into the summer.

Please visit the Files section of my Yahoo Group to read all the challenge details and how easy it is to sign-up and get involved: www.groups.yahoo.com/group/NoExcuseWorkout/ * The first fitness challenge had 752 Flybabies participate and they averaged 2.1 workouts per week. So this is a great way to get motivated to move!

TODAY' MOVEMENT MISSION: INTERVALS!
Interval workouts help you BURN 30% MORE CALORIES THAN EXERCISING AT ONE SET PACE AND CAN LEAVE YOUR METABOLISM ELEVATED FOR UP TO 12 HOURS AFTER EACH WORKOUT.

You can print out our free sample 25 minute interval workout by going to: www.momentumfs.com/flylady/

You deserve to have tons of energy, to feel good about yourself and to be health. SO PLEASE INVEST IN YOURSELF AND MAKE THIS WORKOUT HAPPEN! You will feel great when you are done - I promise!

SCREEN TIME (TV, Internet, etc.) VS. EXERCISE TIME
I realize I am not going to win a popularity contest with this post, but I care about all of you and want to help you improve your health and this is important to point out.

I want you to ask yourself an important question:

How much time do you spend watching TV and online each day and how much time do you spend each day exercising and improving your health?

Remember, playing with your kids, washing your windows or shower, and other things that get your heart rate up should be included as part of your exercise time.

My point in asking you this is I want you to really consider whether you can find the time to do the 6-minute No Excuses Workout every other day and do a 20-30 minute Interval Workout every other day. I can probably gaurantee you that if you spent some of your TV or internet time moving, you would not miss out on much TV or online but do amazing things for your energy and health.

Sorry for the tough love, but we can all find a way to fit our workouts in by making ourselves, our energy and our health a top priority.

Please make sure to enter your exercise minutes for the FlyLady Virtual Walking Tour of the World: http://www.flylady.net/pages/byhc_1.asp

Please remember these important keys to success:
- Take Baby Steps
- Avoid Making Excuses
- STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Be Proud of Yourself when you are done exercising
- HAVE FUN!

Take care ladies,
Jonathan
