1. This was before your birthday, but it's because of you that I was able to
do this, so . . . happy birthday. =)
I was able to start working in our church's Awana program again this year
as a secretary after taking a few years off because life was too chaotic
for me. I love working with the girl's club there and have so much fun
organizing their little awards and things!
Thank you, Flylady!

2. Dearest Flylady,
I wanted to say "Happy Birthday" to you and in honor of your birthday, I have blessed someone in your honor.
I had a second copy of your book "sink reflections" that I had acquired. I knew a friend was suffering from the same thing I had suffered with for so many years, clutter, chaos, confusion. I have known this friend since we were in the 3rd grade, 20 plus years! She visited me one day and said "how'd did you do it? How did you get your house so beautiful? Did you hire a maid?" I had purple puddles, I grabbed my extra book and told her to read it. She called me a few days later and said, "thank-you, I now know, I am not alone, I am normal."
Thank you and Happy Birthday!

3. Happy Birthday Marla.
I share your message of sharing and caring to all who are like us. It is a great feeling to know I am not alone in how I think about cleaning & organizing in general. I always felt like a failure until I found you thru a dear friend. It is great to know someone truly understands how I feel. I look forward to the reminders and shared messages.
God Bless and have a Great Birthday.
Love, Linda from Rising Sun, Md.
4. Happy Birthday!
I am going to babysit my neighbor's sick child so she can make her dr's appointment. She said she'd pay me, but when it comes time for that subject, I'll switch it on and hopefully she'll get so sidetracked she'll forget to pay me and I will leave without the money. She's a great friend and I don't need her money to do her a favor. Or I'll simply tell her to pay it forward, by doing three good deeds for other people. I loved that movie and I will own it one day. I'm going to raise my son on the principle. It's a great one!
5. Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
Since I found you I have made a lotta changes..some big and some little. The ones I am most proud of involve helping others. I have an elderly neighbor that doesn't get out much any more due to arthritis. I take her meals once or twice a week. She loves the food and always compliments me on it, but the conversations that happen when we do the drop-off ( I take my 2 DD, 4 and 6) are the real reward. I know that giving her some socialization feeds her soul as much as the food fills her tummy. And I get the chance to teach my DDs to learn hands-on how to make somebody's life a little sweeter. The second thing we do is take our excess stuffed animals to the police station. They keep them in the trunk of their squad cars for moments that kids need support when their parents or guardians are in trouble. Again my DDs learn how to help others while helping to decrease the clutter. I would not be able to do this without you by my side, cheering me on my babysteps.
Thank you very much! Flybaby L in Memphis
6. Hi,
As a pay it forward to my wonderful Girl Scout leader, Mrs Funcaster, I grew up to be a Girl Scout leader myself (for 17 years now). As a birthday gift to Marla, my troop is participating in the Red Cross relief "Thank you cards for Volunteers". We are making Thank You cards for the relief workers and those who donate helping in the awful Tsunami aftermath.
As for a personal Pay it Forward, I am taking care of my elderly Mom to prevent her having to enter a nursing home and to remain home where she wants to be. I want my children to learn elderly are not disposable and still have much to contribute.

7. Happy Birthday Sweet Fly Lady,
Thank you for all you do for all of us. Happy Birthday!
In your name, I have just sent another $A20 to Care Australia's Tsunami Relief appeal.

8. Happy Birthday, Marla!
I am going to help my neighbor repaint her military quarters this afternoon -- something that she must do before she can "clear" them (turn over the keys without financial penalty). Her husband is deployed, so it's up to "the girls" to get this done.

9. I helped my sister in law with her efforts to stop smoking.
I sent her supportive e-mails (where did I get theat idea? and gave her tips what to do when she thought she needed a sigarette (5 minute rescue, do her nails, get a glass of water).
I answered her phonecalls when she needed to be reminded why she quit.
She is smokefree for 5 weeks now!
Thank you for your system, it works great so far!
and as we say in the Netherlands:
Gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag en nog een fijne dag (congratulations and enjoy your birthday)

10. Happy Birthday Fly Lady, I love your website and check it almost every day and I am getting more organized. Today I am going to visit some elderly folks in a nursing home--that is my good deed for the day. Pat in North Carolina
11. My good deed was to give a treat to my ultimate fly friend Wendy. For example: She goes to our friends house and while others are drinking in the livingroom (she is currently trying to conceive), she was organizing and clearing clutter in the master bedroom closet. At our FRIEND's HOUSE !!! She is the QUEEN!!! Anyhow, she loves a certain expensive lotion that we both love. I had a spare for face and body and put them with a ribbon and left them on her car seat. She is ALWAYS doing for others. She is inspiring and generous. I felt she needed something for a change. Sure, thank you from all of us for her good deeds are heard on a regular basis....but a little token of thank you - something she really loves and uses was called for.
So, flylady, for your birthday I gave my friend Wendy some Royal Jelly body and face treatment!!!
Happy birthday you amazing lady! Thank you for changing my life.
An ever-enthusiastic baby fly!!!
Vicki
12. Dearest Marla,
Today in your honour I have doubled my contribution to the Tsunami relief, shared some very painful, very private history to help others overcome domestic violence at a shelter and I will go to see a friend who is having a hard time. I am taking the time out to make the trip and I will just bring myself. And for the first time in four decades I really feel that I am not bringing "nothing" because it is spur of the moment and I can't bring a gift. Thank you! and many happy returns of your special day .

Dear Marla,
My husband & I are donating to the Tsunami relief effort.
Our pastor says "You are blessed to be a blessing." Thanks for blessing
us.
May you have a blessed birthday.
14. Happy Birthday dear Flylady!
In honor of your birthday as per your idea to "pay it forward" (I, too, was very touched by that movie) DH and I donated to Doctors Without Borders to help with the Tsunami relief effort. I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like for everyone over there and I thank God that my family is safe and intact. Hopefully the efforts of all your flybabies will touch lives as you have touched ours. Thank you for all you do!

15. Dear Flylady,
Happy Birthday!!! My mothers birthday is also this month.
My DH got me a gift certificate last year for Valentines day for a 3 hour Spa treatment.. I didn't use is because I didn't feel worthy. I became a baby fly the Mon. before Thanksgiving and have gotten rid of countless van loads of STUFF (as my DS would say Something That Undermines Family Fun). I have also quit smoking and am now on day 28.
Flylady has been my inspiration. Since I feel so much better about my home, I now feel better about myself. Strange how that works. I went last week for the Spa treatment and was very impressed. My mom is where I learned to not clean house. She has never been a happy person since I can remember and her house is always a mess. I and going to start 15 mins. a week with her house and try to get it under control. I am going to get mom a Spa treatment for her birthday in honor of the flylady. I know that it isn't much for all that you have done for so many people and I wish I could send one your way, but mom has never been pampered in her life and I'm sure she will love it.
Thank you so much for all you have done for so many.

16. Happy Birthday Dear, Dear Flylady, and thanks for all the blessings you've give so many.
I donated monies to Tsunami and was matched by my company.
I shoveled my stepmother-in-law's walkways (even though I live in a condo and don't have to do my own).
Thank you so much for all the blessings you've brought to my daughter and me, we think you are the bestest!

19. Surprise, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!!! In honor of your birthday, I have become a member of the following very special organizations. The first is Project Linus. We knit blankets for severely ill children in hospitals all over the country. The second one is Hugs for Homeless Animals. They, too, recieve handmade blankets or snuggly toys to keep them company in shelters as they await new homes. In both cases, the idea is that each little soul has something to bring them comfort and to call their very own. A NOTE ABOUT FLYING in relation to this: Because my "home blessing" is done on a regular basis, I can enjoy working on these projects GUILT FREE in the evenings knowing nothing is screaming at me to take care of it (i.e. clutter, etc.). Thanks to you for blessing all your Flybabies so that we, in turn, can have the time to bless others!
P.S. This has really helped with my feelings of "poor me"...Nothing kills a pity party faster or better than doing something for someone else!
Much Love to you, FlyLady! FlyBabyNan
20. The kid across the street (after an ice storm) had no gloves, and was trying to scrape the ice off of his car with his broken scraper.
I had an old pair of my dads gloves in my car (he passed 10 years ago), and I had a brush with a scraper, plus a scraper. I gave the kid the gloves and the scraper -- telling him that they were both used, but still worked.
He acted like I had given him a million bucks.
God is good, all the time. Let him live in me.
Happy Birthday! SUZ

23. Dear FlyLady,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
In your honor, I have sent two thank you notes for visiting singers to my church choir. I have e-mailed a long lost - very important - professor from college. I have taught my children that they can do anything for 5 minutes. In your honor, there will be children flying for generations to come. Thank you for giving me control of my time and my life.

24. Happy Birthday. I sent a thank you note to two of my daughter's teachers today. The suggestions to "Pay it Forward" were a great motivation, as is your web site. Thank you so much and have a wonderful day!

25. Pay it Forward is one of my favorite movies too! SInce seeing it a few years ago, my family and I try to pay it forward when ever we get the chance. My favorite examples are from my DS.
When he was 5 our pastor mentioned that there had been devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma. My DS came home and helped our next door neighbor rake leaves. She offered him money. At first he told her that he was just doing it to help her, but then remembered what the pastor said. He took the money straight to the church and asked the pastor to send it to the people in OK.
Last summer a man at our church told about going to a small village in El Salvador on business. While there he found out that most of the kids there don't get to go to school because there isn't enough money in the village. When my 10 year old DS heard that he had a lemonade stand and donated all of the money to help pay for some of the kids in that village go to school. When he told his "customers" why he was raising the money, many of them donated more than the cost of a cup of lemonade, so he was able to donate quite a bit more than he would have.
Happy Birthday FlyLady! Thanks for all you do for all of us!

26. You've saved my life in the years I've been with you. I hit so many low points, but your wisdom and grace carried me through. Some days I'm flying, some days I've picking myself up, but theres something inside me now, more often than not, that knows I can, will and should pick myself up when I fall. I don't feel as tempted to give up when hit with a lot of challenges, and I'm learning to adjust my attitude so there are less challenges.
For your birthday, I'm taking Wilma out for lunch. She's a wonderful elderly lady who's husband passed away recently from advanced Alzheimer's. She and her daughter are dear friends now, but this is a wonderful way for me to celebrate because it's thanks to you that they are part of my life. Last year I began working doing in home senior care, and I was with this family 6 days a week. I would never have been brave enough to do something so personal, so time consuming (I have 4 children at home), and emotionally challenging. But, thanks to you, my family always had clean clothes, dinner on the table, special time with Mom, and family fun days. Sometimes on my day off the kids would ask if we could stop in and say hello, and we would. You taught me to open my heart, step out on faith, and fling anything that doesn't spread peace and love.
Thank you so much. You are truly our gift from God. I hope these blessing from all over the world touch your heart and show you how much you are loved, needed and appreciated.
And, thank you for taking care of yourself and loving yourself so that you can be here for all of us. Thank you & Happy Birthday!
Love,
Niala
27. I will visit a member of our church who is in a nursing home and bring him some (I think they're called-LOL) paperwhites. I saw them yesterday and they're so beautiful, I think he'd enjoy them. And HAPPY, HAPPY! WE LOVE YOU!

28. In honor of your birthday, I "paid it forward" to my 9 year-old ADHDelightful daughter. My husband has been deployed since the end of November and she has had trouble this 9 weeks in school with reading retention. As a result, she has been performing poorly (and very uncharacteristic of her) on her reading tests. She will more than likely not make her reading goal this term, but to make her smile, and encourage her to continue to try her best, I took some time out this morning and made her a bookmark and told her, "You're my hero."
You have a WONDERFUL birthday... you're my hero too.

30. Dear Flylady,
In honor of your birthday and to be a blessing to another my DH and I took a young man ( 16 yrs.) out to dinner ( a buffet of course) and then back to our home to spend the evening watching corny movies, eating popcorn and some good one on one attention. This young man is the third child from a divorced family. His older brother has Downs Syndrome, his sister is constantly making bad choices and his mother is manic-depressant. If he is lucky he gets to spend 4 days a month with his Dad (when Dad is up to it). This wonderful young man has low self-esteem and is extremely quiet. He had a wonderful time and felt like he had hit the jackpot today! Before we took him home he gave me and my DH a big hug. He went home beaming and so did we. Happy Birthday Flylady!

Here's your gift--sorry I couldn't wrap it:

P.S. I could have given you a wide assortment of clutter from my home, but I thought the landfill could use it more...
32. Dear FlyLady -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
33. Hope your birthday is a blessed one. You have given me so much with your
encouragement and reminders (which I very much need). You gave me hope that
there is actually a way to organize and clean without that overwhelming and
defeated feeling always. You have made me feel better about who I am since
I'm not an awful person for not knowing how to keep my house clean. I still
have a way to go but because of you things have definitely improved. Thank
you for all you do and for using the gift God has given you.
I have an older lady who is a dear friend. Her husband is house bound so
she is too, pretty much. She gets so lonely and I haven't been to see her
in a while. In the next week I'm going to fix her a supper and go for a
visit.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

34. Best wishes on your birthday, Flylady, may you have many more and may you continue to bless us and the world.
My good deed in honor of your birthday was to keep the child of a friend that was in the hospital. I kept her all day, along with my daughter who was out of school. I also worked at my job as well. The point is that in the past I would have never volunteered for keeping another child, too stressful, house too messy, nothing to eat, etc., etc. Now, not only was the house picked up, I was not stressed, and we had all kinds of good snacks and fun projects to do as well. I was also able to work at my job as well, with no stress, and actually got something done.
Happy Birthday and God bless you for all you do.

35. My 5yr dd has been asking to do something for the poor. She has even asked to donate toys and her allowance to them. I have been racking my brain trying to find someway to do this for her. Well I found a website that gave a wonderful idea. I am going to walk around the neighborhood with my daughter to collect money for the tsunami victims. I will then have her send the money. This website also has a flyer for children to print off.

38. Happy Birthday Flylady!
You are an angel on Earth! Thanks for all you do to encourage us!
I also enjoyed the movie Pay It Forward. In December, a co worker
went through neck surgery. I organized a meal drive and when I
delivered the meals, I stayed and helped her clean her house. She can't
drive so with Christmas approaching, we picked her items off lay away
and went to my house so I could wrap the presents. You don't realize
what you can't do when you can't move your neck
When she asked "how can I ever thank you enough", I smiled and said "pay
it forward".
39. Happy Birthday Flylady!!!
We all appreciate your help so much! In honor of your birthday today my good deed was to prepare a school lunch for a child my daughter knows who does not have a mother living with her and never has her lunch. I put stickers on it so she will feel special - - - just like you make us feel! I plan to continue to do this for the remainder of the school year.
Thank you again for everything and I hope you have the best birthday ever!!!

40. My blessing for today is to visit an elderly shut-in. I am a brand new flybaby. This is the first week that I am doing the baby steps. I already feel better knowing there is hope for getting my house in order. Happy Birthday!
41. Happy Birthday FlyLady,
I am planning a meal to take to a friends home. Roast pork, oven fried potatoes, corn pudding, corn bread, and banana cream pie. The reason for the meals on wheels is my friends husband has just been told he has lung cancer they are traveling 160 miles a day for treatments. This week they meet with the doctor to find out what the test results are. They will be stressed, and tired when returning home, plus with the treatments he is having a hard time with the smells of food cooking.
This will be just a small payment of friendship for all they have done for others. I pray you have a good day and I also pray that the news this week is encouraging for my friends.

43. First and foremost, Thank you for saving my life, family and marriage. When a friend told me about your site, I was about to bail, but she gave me hope and said, "If you do anything today, just go to flylady.net and let me know how it goes". It saved me and I clung to it for dear life (literally) for a year and now I have passed your love and self respect onto many of my friends and they too wish you a happy birthday in a huge purple puddle.
Today I chose to help a friend who does not have Internet access because her husband has gone back to school for a PhD and she is working hard to keep up her routines. I put her assignments on colored Popsicle sticks and she just pulls them out with her children each day and they direct her to what flylady reminders she needs.
Thanks again and all the best.

44. Thanks to the FlyLady, my family was able to move into a beautiful new home this past year! As a cancer survivor, I struggled to keep my old home clutter free, but it was hard. Using the "Boogie Flings", I threw a lot of junk away and also gave a lot of clothes and household items to charity. In our new home, I'm still working on boxes in the garage, but we are able to keep our living areas picked up.
In our new neighborhood, I have noticed a young woman in a wheelchair going up and down the streets. The other day I approached her when she was sitting in her wheelchair in front of my house (my house is #1 and sits at the entrance to our neighborhood). I introduced myself and my two daughters (ages 7 and 11) to her and she said her name is Jacqueline and she is 18 years old. She attends a local college and she was just getting out of the house that Sunday afternoon because her mother was cleaning!
I think for my "good deed" that I'm going to send her a card and invite her to come over sometime just to talk. She had told me that she is a Journalism major in college and both my husband and myself majored in Journalism!
Happy Birthday!
Leslie
45. Thank you so much for giving me inspiration on keeping my house clutter free! I check Kelly’s daily reminders and it has made a world of difference!
My offering to the FLYLADY Blessings is a gift that I have been giving for years. Every Saturday, I visit our town’s Nursing Homes, checking on the members of my church that reside in each home. At one, I play the piano for around 45 minutes and we have a great time. The residents are so interested in my new grandbaby, what I’m doing, and everything else I can bring to them in the form of music & laughter. Sometimes the music is Gospel, sometimes it’s just fun. Last Saturday I surprised them w/a new book that I told them, “I bought it just for you guys!”. They said that the old songs really took them back. We have a blast!
46. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! In honor of your birthday i have done two good deeds. I have a friend who's godmother has recently become very ill the women may have pancratic cancer which the doc's alone gave her 3-6 mons to live. Well because my friend has been at the hospital with her god mother and she has a husband and 5 kids I cooked her a dinner for her and her family one night so she wouldn't have to cook. I also Went to visit with this women that I didn't even know she doesn't have any family other then my friend who can't be there all the time. there is a fiffty year age difference with this women and i but we still had fun she taught me how to play Yahteez.
So this is my gift to you flylady

47. Dear Flylady
My oldest daughter shares your birthday. Since I have joined your group (will be 2 years in March) I have been able to help my grown children (four of them) with the grandchildren (six of them) more than just visiting. These days the ladies need to work to maintain a decent standard of living and that makes it so hard. I am often the taxi driver for the kids when work schedules conflict. This morning I went to Sears to pay a bill that was due today for her. I haven't been able to convert her yet!! This afternoon I will be picking up my granddaughters from school because the car is in for repair. My Christmas tree is still up and I am not worried about it. When things settle down (my father in law has been in the hospital for the past 5 days for heart problems and we have been taking turns staying with him around the clock) I will "jump in where I am". And by the way, I just ordered the movie from Amazon. I can't wait to see it!
Happy Birthday and thanks for everything you do.<>br

48. Happy Birthday, dear friend and mentor.
I try to pay it forward every day. I saw and loved that movie several years ago. Today I am mailing a check for $100 for tsunami survivor's emergency disaster fund through the American Friends Committee. Without learning to FLY and FACE my finances I would never have been able to send this check. Thank you for blessing me with this "extra" money.
I will continue to pray for you and thank God for you as I continue to stay up off the ground, although I have to admit that I sometimes have singed tail feathers from crash landing and skidding along the ground.

49. Dearest FLYlady,
Happy Birthday to you!! It's my birthday this month, too
The blessings in my life are many, and I so believe in "what goes around comes around".
Yesterday my daughter brought home a slip from school about a pizza party the kids wanted to have in their class. The teacher needed a per pupil donation to make this happen. I know that there are several kids in the class who's families are on limited incomes, so it has become my habit to pay double each time my daughter has a class expense. This allows someone else a scholarship and my daughter feels good knowing she has helped one of her classmates.
Have a wonderful birthday and thank you so very much for all of the good you do.
With love and best wishes,

50. Marla,
Happy birthday! One of my favorite gifts is when someone will make a donation or perform an act of service in my honor. It's clutter free too which is a big bonus. So in honor of your birthday and the 10 inches of snow that we were blessed with overnight I have shoveled snow for 2 neighbors who have a difficult time getting out and about, one of them is wheel chair bound and another has a brand new baby. It's still coming down pretty heavy here so if I'm lucky I can go do it again. It is also a great way to bless my heart!
Happy Birthday!!!!!
