Control Journal Step 2: Basic Setup

"I am going to give you specific instructions for putting together your control journal. Up to a point. I want this to be your control journal, not mine. This is very personal." - FlyLady

These are the dividers for your control journal. As you progress through the 15 steps, you will gradually fill each section of your control journal. Remember: baby steps and keep it simple!

  • Daily Routines and Reminders: all your daily routines: Morning, Afternoon, Before Bed, etc. (FlyLady uses a yellow divider)

  • Basic Weekly Plan: many of you have not developed a Basic Weekly Plan yet. No problem, just have a sheet of paper labelled for each day of the week. (FlyLady uses a blue divider)

  • Zones: this is where you will put your detailed cleaning list for each zone (5 different colored sheets). Go to the FlightPlan to refer to FlyLady's detailed cleaning lists.
    • Zone 1: Entrance and Dining Room
    • Zone 2: Kitchen
    • Zone 3: Bathroom and one other room
    • Zone 4: Master Bedroom
    • Zone 5: Living Room

  • Menus & Grocery List

  • Emergency Numbers

  • Address Book (ABC dividers)

  • Personal (FlyLady uses pink)

  • Then some blank dividers for your own sections.

"This is enough for now. You are going to love having a Control Journal, then you won't need me! LOL You will be able to FLY all on your own." - FlyLady
